Who am I?

 

This Englishman was born in 1902,

What would he do, I'll tell you…

 

He invented quantum mechanics,

And quantum electrodynamics.

 

The greatest minds could not compare,

Leaving them mulling in despair.

 

They turned to pettiness,

Despite their renowned genius.

 

While this man was an admirer of Einstein,

The scientist he looked up to crossed a line.

 

Einstein lobbed insults and derided his peer,

When they should have debated string theory over a beer.

 

But this great man was an introvert and perhaps too serious,

Yet his seminal role in physics is not mysterious.

 

The point I will insist,

This revolutionary physicist,

 

Though household notoriety he may lack,

Was the late, great Paul Adrien Maurice Dirac.
